Kat Timpf provided an update following her double mastectomy surgery. The stand-up comedian, Fox News contributor, and new mother shared her post-operative experience on social media, stating, ‘Post-op! They’re honestly not much smaller than they were before I got pregnant.’ This was accompanied by a photo of her recovering at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where her feet were shown, obscured by a black ‘CENSORED’ box. Timpf discovered she had a small amount of Stage 0 breast cancer just 15 hours before giving birth to her son in mid-February, a week past his due date. Her unique birth announcement disclosed her diagnosis and her intention to undergo surgery. Timpf received numerous supportive messages and gifts from colleagues, including a humorous cake from Jessica Tarlov, who celebrated Timpf’s newfound freedom. Greg Gutfeld expressed eagerness for her return to his late-night show, while Dagen McDowell conveyed her affection. Jim Norton praised Timpf’s comedic talent, stating, ‘You are always funny, no matter what’s going on.’ In a video dated February 28, Timpf addressed the overwhelming unsolicited advice she received regarding her breast cancer treatment, emphasizing the individuality of each case and affirming her commitment to making the best choices for herself and her family. In July 2024, she disclosed on Fox News that she had mentally prepared for every aspect of procreation except for the possibility of becoming pregnant.
“Initially, I believed that I would not conceive, particularly not through natural means,” she stated. “When I did become pregnant, I anticipated that I would likely experience a miscarriage. After all, I am 35, which, from a medical standpoint, categorizes my pregnancy as geriatric. If you were to read some of the comments from men online, you would be astonished that a 35-year-old woman could find anyone willing to engage with her sexually!”
However, Timpf appeared to be quite content with Friscia and the direction her life was heading.
“I had never desired children prior to meeting him, but our relationship made me realize that having children could actually be an enjoyable experience. Part of it stemmed from a feeling that something was lacking in my life. Another part was simple curiosity. Additionally, I felt that I had already accomplished everything else. As absurd as it may sound, I thought it would be amusing.
“Not that the baby is merely a source of humor—though everything in life has its humorous aspects—but rather, I am certain that there will be plenty of laughter throughout this journey, and laughter is what I cherish most about living.”
