Navarone Garcia, Priscilla Presley’s son, reveals his battle with heroin and fentanyl addiction and how he finally found hope and healing. He now shares his story to inspire others.

The Presley family has faced profound sorrow in recent years, most notably the tragic loss of Lisa Marie Presley in 2023. Now, Navarone Garcia, Priscilla Presley’s son, is stepping forward with his own story — one of struggle, survival, and recovery.

Though born into a famous family, Navarone Garcia, 37, spent much of his life avoiding the spotlight. But behind the scenes, he was fighting a silent war: a years-long addiction to heroin and fentanyl.

“It started with weed in high school, and by the time I was 16 or 17, I had tried everything,” Navarone said in a recent emotional interview. “I don’t know if you can call it casual use of heroin, but I didn’t really have a problem until 2015… then something shifted.”

A Hidden Struggle

Navarone’s drug use escalated drastically. By his own admission, he was using heroin up to 40 times a day, unknowingly consuming dangerous amounts of fentanyl.

“It became intolerable and unsustainable,” he recalled. “I actually checked myself into a rehab and told them, ‘I just shot up in the bathroom — I’m going to test positive for heroin and cocaine.’ But they said, ‘You tested negative for heroin.’ That’s when I realized — it had all been fentanyl.”

Despite the intense secrecy surrounding his addiction, Navarone’s mother, Priscilla Presley, stood by him when he needed her most.

“I’d call her after a week of withdrawals and say, ‘Mom, I need to come stay at your house for two weeks,’” he shared. “And she’d say, ‘OK. You need some soup?’”

Remembering Lisa Marie

Navarone also reflected on his complex but meaningful relationship with his late half-sister Lisa Marie Presley, who was 20 years his senior.

“We didn’t always get along — like most siblings — but we also had great times,” he said. “What’s strange is that we were often struggling with the same things at the same time without even knowing it.”

The day of Lisa Marie’s funeral left a lasting impression on him. “Someone sent me a picture of the sky from Alabama that day, and it literally looked like an angel with my sister’s face in the clouds,” he said.

Using His Voice for Change

Today, Navarone is clean and committed to helping others by telling his story — partnering with Michael DeLeon of Steered Straight Inc. to raise awareness about addiction and mental health.

Despite his painful past, Navarone says he’s grateful for the chance to heal — and hopes others can find strength in his journey.
